English and maths are the most important subjects for children to master. A solid grounding in these subjects opens up the whole world of understanding. 

 

Our English programme is based on the New Zealand curriculum, is fun, well structured, comprehensive and I have found it very effective with all learners including children and adults with dyslexia and other learning difficulties. Our programme can also be very helpful for people learning English as a second language.

The initial assessment will show us where the child is having problems and we can then target that area. The programme will improve reading, spelling, grammar and language skills.

 

Our maths programme is also based on the New Zealand curriculum and is enjoyable and very comprehensive. New pupils are given an assessment that will show what areas need to be strengthened. A programme will be tailor made for each child and continued assessment keeps us informed of the child's progress. We use a mixture of worksheets, computer programmes and hands on manipulation of materials to reinforce learning.
